Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS)
Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS)
Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a relatively common illness that is associated with an infected and inflamed sinus cavity and nasal passages. Often, chronic rhinosinusitis includes symptoms of nasal congestion, facial pressure, partial or complete loss of smell, and excessive mucus discharge. In addressing the symptoms caused by CRS, doctors often direct their treatments towards topical therapy which focuses on removing the excess mucus residing in the respiratory tract, allowing antibiotics to target the local infection. Studies have pointed to the consistent use of nasal saline rinses as an effective treatment for eliminating congestion in the sinuses. Leading infectious disease experts found that symptoms of CRS can also be managed with the use of compounded antifungal agents such as Amphotericin B, Itraconazole, Nystatin, and Mupirocin. At Forte Rx we offer compounded Amphotericin B, Itraconazole, Nystatin, and Mupirocin and specialize in advanced formulations for the treatment of chronic infectious diseases.
